Supt. Lake Plunge Recap

Thank you to all those that joined us for the Lake Q Plunge and Supt. head shave on Saturday, September 13th. Special thanks to the Wakefield Marching Band, our Diversity Leaders (the barbers), Mr. Maio, the Beebe Library, WCAT and the Wakefield Cooperative Bank, the event’s sponsor.  We are grateful to the Bank’s generous contribution of $5000 to the High School’s Bring Your Own Device Initiative.  Most of all, I want to thank our student readers for making the event possible!  Check out the footage:

Important Back to School Documents

It is our intention to become increasingly more paperless as a school system.  In an effort to move in this direction, we are providing electronic access to important back to school information.  Some of the documents are informational in nature and others should be signed (*denoted by a star) and returned when school starts.

Thank you to all the parents who utilized our new Online Bus Registration Process.  We hope this added convenience and streamlined the registration process.  Moving forward bus passes will only be issued based on seating availability by route.  At this time, bus service is provided to the WMHS, GMS, Dolbeare and Woodville Schools.  If you have not already done so, the bus fee can be paid by cash or check at the WPS Business Office at 60 Farm Street or can be paid online by check, credit card or debit card through the payment link on our website.  Please note that the online option is a third-party company which does charge fees for certain transactions – fee schedule is posted on the website (
5th and 6th grade Galvin Middle School students who live outside of the 2-mile limit are granted passes at no charge.  The list of addresses which are outside of 2-miles is posted on our website:
In addition (newly added this year) any student who qualifies for Free/Reduced Lunch and has registered for a bus pass is also granted a bus pass at no charge.  In order to qualify, a family must register for the bus AND complete the “Sharing Form” included with the F/R Lunch Application (see above).
Bus passes that have been paid in full or issued at no-charge will be distributed to students on the first day of school – therefore bus passes will not be required in order to board the bus on September 4th or 5th.  If your child does not receive his/her pass during the first day of school, please contact the WPS Business Office at 781-246-6400 ext 6952.
